How a Stormforged job actually runs
Eight steps from the survey to the close-out file. Every one of them happens on every roof — none of it is an upgrade, an add-on, or something you have to ask for.
- 01
You send the job
Fill out the survey with the address, the roof type, and your target date. We confirm the same day.
The survey takes about two minutes. We need the property address, the roof system going on, your squares if you already have them, and the window you want it built in.
We confirm availability the same day. If we cannot hit your date we tell you immediately rather than holding the slot and letting you down the week of.
First job with us books at $80 per square instead of $85. That discount is applied at the confirmation, not held back as a rebate.
- 02
We verify measurements and photos before we build it
Pitch, layers, access, and obstacles get checked against the report and your photos, so there are no surprise change orders at 7am.
We read the measurement report against your photos — pitch, squares, existing layers, decking condition wherever the photos show it, and access constraints like pools, tight driveways, low-hanging oak, and second-story-only sides.
Anything that would change your number gets raised before the build, not discovered mid tear-off. You approve pitch fees and layer fees up front.
If the roof looks like it will need decking or has hidden layers, you know that morning, with photos, before we are committed.
- 03
Protection goes down first
Pools, plants, gardens, and hardscape get tarped before the first shingle comes off.
Pools get fully tarped. Landscaping, garden beds, and AC units get covered. We stage debris so it lands where we want it, not in the flower beds.
This is the step cheap crews skip, and it is the one that generates the homeowner phone call you have to take.
Photos of the protection go out to you before tear-off starts, so you have them if a homeowner ever claims damage.

- 04
Tear-off and deck inspection
Every extra layer and every soft sheet of decking is photographed and counted as we go.
Extra layers of shingle or felt are photographed and counted as they come off — that count is what your supplement is built on.
Rotten or delaminated decking gets photographed in place before we replace it, with a measuring reference in frame where it matters.
You are notified in real time as we find things. Decking is billed by the sheet at a flat rate, so there is nothing to argue about later.

- 05
Dry-in and flashing
Step flashing is always replaced. Sidewall and chimney flashing is re-secured or replaced as needed.
Underlayment and valley material go down per the manufacturer's spec for the system you selected. We can install any system — tell us what you have specced and we build to it.
Step flashing is always replaced. We do not reuse it and we do not seal over it. Sidewall and chimney flashing is re-secured or replaced based on condition.
Pipe boots, vents, and penetrations get sealed and photographed individually. This is the single most common source of a leak callback and we treat it that way.

- 06
Install
The system goes on to spec. If we run short, we leave and get material — your day does not stop.
Shingles, metal panel, TPO, or torch-down modified bitumen go on to the manufacturer's nailing and fastening pattern for the pitch.
If we run short on anything, we drive and get it. You are notified that it happened and what it cost. Nobody stands around and nobody drives out from your office.
Progress photos go out as the build moves so you can answer a homeowner without getting in a truck.

- 07
Sweep, haul, and close out
Magnet swept daily and again at completion. Debris haul-off and dump fees are included.
The property is magnet swept every day of the build, not just at the end — nails in a driveway on day two are still nails in a tire.
Debris is hauled and dumped. That is in the square price already; there is no separate dump line on your invoice.
Unused material is loaded and driven back to the supplier for credit on your account.
- 08
The file lands in your inbox — and the warranty starts
Completion photos, material reconciliation, and the lifetime workmanship warranty on everything we installed.
You get a completion package: before, during, and after photos, the layer and decking counts, supplement photography, and quantity ordered against quantity actually installed.
That reconciliation is the part nobody else gives you. It is what lets you close the file, bill the supplement, and know your material order was right.
The lifetime workmanship warranty attaches to the job at completion, in writing, in your name. If anything we installed ever fails because of how we installed it, we come back and fix it — however many years later that is.
Then we do the next one.
Book your first job at $80 a square.
Two minutes to fill out. Same-day confirmation. The discount is applied when we confirm — $80 instead of $85 per square on your first build with us.
